To change the current directory from thisfield,dooneofthefollowing:
• In the field, type the path for the new current directory.
• C lick the down arrow to view a list of previous working directories, and
selectanitemfromthelisttomakethatdirectorybecometheMATLAB
current working directory. The directories are listed in order, with the
most recently used at the top of the list. You can clear the list and set the
number of directories saved in the list — see “Preferences for the Current
Directory Browser” on page 5-54.
• ClicktheBrowseforFolderbutton(...) to set a new current directory.
• Use the Go Up One Level button
to move the current directory up one
level.
The current directory field in the desktop also appears in the Current
Directory browser, when the Current Directory browser is undocked. Consider
it to be one tool with two different means of accessing i t.
Current D irectory Browser
To search for, view, open, find, and make changes to MATLAB related
directories and files, use the MATLAB Current Directory browser. Most
features of the Current Directory browser have equivalent functions that
perform similar actions. If you have an active Internet connection, you can
watch the Current Directory Brow ser vide o demo f or an o ver view of the major
functionality.
In addition to the features described here, the Current Directory browser
includes tools to help you manage your M-file s — see “Directory Reports in
Current Directory B row ser” on page 7-2.
To open the Current Directory bro ws er, select Desktop > Current Directory
from the MATLAB desktop, or type
filebrowser at the Command Window
prompt. The C urrent Directory browser opens.
